The upcoming Bollywood comedy sequel Dhamaal 4 has once again been delayed, with makers reportedly adjusting the release schedule to avoid a direct box office clash with Akshay Kumar’s next big release.
According to industry reports, the film was initially planned for an Eid release in March 2026, before being shifted to June and later scheduled for July 3. The release has now been pushed further to July 17, 2026.
The decision is said to have been taken to avoid competition with Welcome to the Jungle, a large ensemble comedy featuring Akshay Kumar, which is currently scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
Trade analysts suggest that both films belong to the high-profile comedy genre with star-studded casts, and releasing them close together could have impacted box office performance for both projects. As a result, producers reportedly agreed to maintain a gap between the releases to maximize audience reach and theatrical revenue.
Industry insiders also claim that discussions took place between stakeholders, including major actors involved in the projects, to ensure that the release strategy remains commercially balanced. The move reflects a growing trend in Bollywood where major productions strategically avoid direct clashes, especially when targeting similar audience segments.
Ajay Devgn is among the key figures in Dhamaal 4, which continues the popular comedy franchise known for its ensemble cast and chaotic humor. The film is directed by Indra Kumar and backed by major production houses.
The cast also includes returning franchise actors such as Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, and Jaaved Jaaferi, alongside new additions including Esha Gupta, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Anjali Anand, Upendra Limaye, and Ravi Kishan.
On the other side, Welcome to the Jungle features a massive ensemble cast including Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor, making it one of the most crowded comedy line-ups in recent years.
The rescheduling of Dhamaal 4 highlights how release timing has become a crucial part of film strategy, particularly in an era where multiple big-budget projects compete for limited audience attention and cinema screens.
With both films now spaced apart, trade experts expect a stronger box office performance for each title, allowing audiences to enjoy back-to-back comedy releases without direct competition.
