Shraddha Kapoor’s intense preparation for Eetha, the biopic on Lavani icon Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, faced an unexpected interruption after the actor sustained an injury during a demanding dance sequence. The incident has temporarily paused filming, but the production team remains optimistic about a smooth return once she recovers.
According to reports, Shraddha was performing a high-tempo Lavani number choreographed to Ajay-Atul’s composition when she slipped mid-step, fracturing a toe on her left foot. The 38-year-old actress had already undergone a dramatic physical transformation for the role, reportedly gaining over 15 kilograms and performing in a traditional Nauvari saree, layered jewellery, and a kamarpatta that added to the physical intensity of the performance.
Witnesses say the fall occurred during a rapid sequence driven by the dholki’s pace. The injury was significant enough to halt the schedule, but Shraddha handled the situation with her characteristic calm and professionalism. Instead of calling off the day’s work entirely, she proposed shifting to close-up emotional scenes that required minimal movement.
The team quickly adapted and relocated to a controlled indoor setup in Mumbai’s Madh Island. However, within a couple of days, Shraddha experienced rising discomfort, prompting the unit to suspend shooting completely. Production is expected to resume in about two weeks, depending on her recovery timeline.
The setback arrives at a crucial point in Shraddha’s career. With Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024) further strengthening her foothold in commercial cinema, she has become more selective about her projects. Eetha is her first biopic, and the news of her dedicated preparation has heightened audience anticipation. Her 94 million-strong Instagram following has already been buzzing with encouragement and admiration.
Director Laxman Utekar and the creative team have emphasised that Shraddha’s safety takes priority and assured fans that filming will only resume under fully secure conditions. For now, her resilience, quick decision-making, and commitment to authenticity stand out as defining elements of her ongoing journey with the film.

Eetha continues to be one of the most discussed upcoming projects, and despite the delay, enthusiasm around Shraddha’s performance remains unwavering. The injury may have paused the shoot, but it has only amplified the conversation around a role that is shaping up to be one of her most challenging yet.
