Gadar 2 Motion Poster released
The much-awaited motion poster of Gadar 2, the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has been released today. The poster features Sunny Deol reprising his iconic role of Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver who falls in love with a Muslim girl during the Partition of India. The poster shows Tara Singh holding a hand pump, a reference to the famous scene from the first film where he uproots a hand pump to fight off a mob.
The motion poster also reveals that the film will be set in 1990, when India was facing communal riots and political turmoil. The tagline of the poster reads “Jo Tara Singh ne nahin kiya, woh ab karega”. The film will explore what happens when Tara Singh and his family face a new challenge in their lives.
Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma, who also helmed the first film. The film also stars Ameesha Patel as Sakeena, Tara Singh’s wife, and Utkarsh Sharma as Jeete, their son. The film is expected to release in 2022 on the occasion of Republic Day.
