Lindsay Lohan is no stranger to transformation — and now, the actress wants her career to reflect that same evolution. As she promotes Freakier Friday, the sequel to her hit 2003 film Freaky Friday, Lohan is speaking candidly about the direction she hopes to take as an actor.
While romantic comedies have long been her comfort zone, Lohan shared that she’s looking forward to breaking out of that mold. “That’s where my fans know me best, and I love the genre,” she said. “But I’m at a place now where I want to stretch myself.”
Lohan’s aspirations include gritty drama and high-intensity action roles — genres she hasn’t yet explored but clearly has a passion for. “There’s more to me as an actor,” she emphasized. “I want people to see what else I can do — and I think it’s time.”
Currently, she’s juggling multiple projects. Alongside Freakier Friday, Lohan is starring in the psychological series Count My Lies and working on a new Hulu project she describes as both “personal” and “powerful.”
Freakier Friday reunites her with Jamie Lee Curtis, under the direction of Nisha Ganatra, and is penned by Jordan Weiss. The Disney sequel is slated to hit cinemas worldwide on August 8, and fans are already anticipating its nostalgic appeal.
If Lohan’s latest interviews are any indication, this isn’t just a comeback — it’s a strategic shift toward serious, challenging material that reflects her growth, both as a performer and as a woman navigating Hollywood on her own terms.
