Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has made a public appearance outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, accompanied by his son, Abhishek Bachchan. The veteran actor greeted fans gathered outside his home following his recent announcement that he would take a few days off from social media to rest and recover.
According to a report by Hungama Express, Bachchan stepped outside his residence and acknowledged the fans who had assembled to see him. His appearance came after his message about taking a temporary break prompted concern among some followers about his well-being.
The actor recently shared an update through his Tumblr account, explaining that he had been advised by his doctor to pause his regular online activity for a few days.
“Apologies. I seek forgiveness. I have been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover, so I am unable to write anything at the moment,” Bachchan wrote.
The message did not provide further details about his condition or explain the specific reason for the recommended rest period.
Bachchan has maintained a close connection with his fans through regular online updates, making the announcement notable for followers accustomed to his frequent posts. His latest public appearance offered another glimpse of the actor after he informed fans that he needed time away from his usual routine.
The report also mentioned a bomb threat sent to a school in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) area on October 23. It referred to heightened security concerns surrounding the period, but the available information does not establish that the reported threat was directed at Bachchan or his residence.
Meanwhile, the actor continues to be associated with Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), the Indian version of the internationally recognised television quiz format. Bachchan is hosting the programme’s 18th season, continuing a long-running association with the popular quiz show.
Over several decades, Bachchan has established himself as one of Indian cinema’s most recognisable performers. His film credits include classics such as Sholay and popular productions such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
His enduring career across film and television has helped him maintain a substantial fan following in India and internationally. His public appearance outside Jalsa has therefore attracted attention from admirers eager for updates following his announcement.
Although Bachchan has not shared additional details about his health in the reported message, he has made clear that he is taking time to rest as advised. Fans will likely continue to follow his public updates for further information about his return to his regular activities.
